National Library of France

Bibliothèque Nationale de France is a public library in Paris with an interesting architectural design. It has four towers in the form of open books and is one of the largest libraries of Europe! It is located near the metro station (on the line M14) Bibliothèque François Mitterrand which is also the other name for the library.

Below, you will see some more pictures that I clicked when I visited the library with Aditi Kumar, my new friend in Paris. I don’t know how to access books through reading or lending section yet but I’m hoping to go there many more times to see if I could do some reading there or borrow books.

Seeing the two original globes of King Louis XIV –one of earth and another of heavens–, and getting to know their history was a priceless experience! Only unfortunate thing was that one is not allowed to click photos of globes. For those of you who would like to know more about the globes, I’m attaching an internet link here.

Cheers!
