Panthéon: view of the exterior

These are photographs of the Panthéon, Paris, from outside. Originally a shrine built in honour of Sainte Genevieve, it was converted after the French revolution into a monument to honour the great people of France. Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Marie Curie, Émilie Zola, Alexandre Dumas are only some among many greats who have been burried here.

Go more close and you can’t see the dome but the ornate walls and Corinthian pillars are visible

Panthéon is available for public to visit with ticketed entry. I haven’t been inside yet. When I do, will do another post on it’s interior 😊
